Deborah was a graduate of the Philadelphia Public School system Deborah always loved
learning and encouraged her daughters to pursue knowledge. Deborah accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at
a young age at Union Baptist Church in south Philly. She continued to serve the Lord at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of southwest Philadelphia. After moving to the Germantown section of Philadelphia, she joined the church family at Faith Fellowship Baptist Church where she served on the nursing board.
Deborah enjoyed spending time with her entire family and her home was always a haven for all. Her beloved children, Marcia and Felicia, grandchildren, great grands, nieces and nephews filling
her home made her very happy. She loved to read and enjoyed games of deciphering. Deborah worked for the federal government as a nursing assistant at the Veterans Administration Hospital of Philadelphia for more than two decades. She was very attentive to every patient assigned to her care and
was recognized as an outstanding employee.
"Debbie", as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, will always be remembered for
her many deeds of kindness, helping hand, and funny spirit she extended to her family and friends. She
was very strong-spirited and enjoyed helping others.
Deborah leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted daughters, Marcia and Felicia; five sisters,
Anita, Alfreda, Delores, Judy, and Elizabeth: three brothers, Anthony, Edward and Michael; one brother-in-law, Ralph; two sisters-in law; Lois and Stella: three grandchildren, Charles , Tanayah, and Najai; two great grandchildren, Markeith and Amaiah; one aunt, Evelyn; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews and cousins along with many friends.
